OCEANIA JUNIOR FENCING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2012

The Oceania Junior Championships will be held in Noumea, New Caledonia from 13-15 July, 2012. The Championships will include all three weapons - Sabre (13 July), Epee (14 July), Foil (15 July). The event will be preceded by a camp, also in New Caledonia, on 11-12 July, 2012.

Nominations for both the Championships and the camp should be forwarded to your national federation.

No FIE licence is required for the Oceania Junior Championships, and there is no limit to the number of athletes that may compete in the individual events.

Welcome to the Oceania fencing Confederation (OFC) website.

The current membership of the OFC includes Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia (as an Associate Member). Fencers from Tahiti (French Polynesia) competed in the last Oceania Senior Championships, under the auspices of New Caledonia.

The OFC is keen to develop Fencing in other countries in the Oceania Zone. There has been a recent request from Samoa to establish a fencing federation and the OFC is working to make this possible.

It is interesting to note that the Oceania Zone contains 0.05% of the world's population spread over about 30% of the world's surface. The geography of our zone certainly poses some challenges which we are keen to overcome!
